- New Zealand Red Stag – during Rut / Roar mid March to late April. Red Deer Stags cast their antlers around August and aren’t in hard antler till late February.
- New Zealand Sika deer - April to end of May during rut.
- Fallow deer - April / May
- Wild Boar (Hog / Pig) – Winter months (May to August).
- Feral Goat – all year.
- Small Game (Rabbit, Hares, Opossum) – all year.
There are no seasons or tags to be purchased for most big game hunting in New Zealand.
