A healthy skin is the result of a healthy lifestyle. This includes a fresh organic diet, regular exercise, plenty of fresh air, sunshine (but not too much), at least two litres of pure clean water each day and a good nights sleep.
The skin care of choice should use only pure, whole ingredients, preferably edibles and cold pressed oils, as well as organically grown ingredients free from chemical residues and grown as nature intended. Ideally the cold pressed oils should not be heated as this can damage the oils making them rancid and depleting their nutrient value.
Our research has shown that often more than half the ingredients in creams and lotions are there to make the cream look and feel nice, to emulsify oil and water, or to act as a preservative. The number of ingredients that actually support the health of the skin are usually minimal, and many of the ingredients can impair or damage the skin.
At Waiheke Blue we have endeavoured to go ‘beyond’ organics, incorporating a level of consciousness that includes ethical business practises, highest quality certified organic ingredients, concern for the whole life of packaging and our carbon footprint. We stay connected to earth by growing and producing our own pure essential lavender oil as well as calendula oil. Our skin care ingredients are especially chosen for the health of the skin. There are no emulsifiers, synthetics, preservatives or any other suspicious ingredients. Our ingredients are bio-active i.e. alive!
