Enjoy the romantic tranquillity of the lavender gardens for a weekend getaway. Situated in the centre of the island, and located on 120 acres of beautiful rolling hills adorned with native bush, your accommodation is part of an eco friendly home, designed to run efficiently with a low footprint. The facility incorporates ecological, and sustainable design, including a flushing toilet that feeds a New Zealand designed worm/composting system. Your modern bathroom includes handcrafted work as well as hot water heated by the sun!

Your room is large and spacious with large glass bi-fold doors opening out on to a covered patio with a further patio, sheltered and private, looking out over our award-winning vineyardto the bush-clad hills beyond. The organic gardens include a large fruit orchard and, of course, the lavender garden, which is in bloom from early December to harvest time in late January.

Enjoy your day by exploring the island; either visit Onetangi Beach, 5 minutes away by car, go for a bush or coastal walk, or check out the variety of events available on the island. Alternatively, you may just choose to sit up the hill, look out over the lavenders to the hills beyond and be enchanted by the Tuis and native Kereru as well as the beautiful view, or sunset.

Breakfast is continental and can be enjoyed on your private patio or in the centre of the lavender patch in the Lavender folly.

Practicalities:
Access to the accommodation requires 4WD vehicle, it is recommended to have a vehicle as we are not ‘on the beaten track’ and the driveway is too adventurous for 2WD cars.

Cost per night is $180 per couple, or $160 single.
Minimum 2 nights stay. Check in 2 p.m. check out by 11 a.m.
Dinner can be provided by arrangement and may include our own olive oil, Awaroa Wine, and fresh goodies as available from our gardens.
