What happens when someone awakens to discover they have shared the most intimate of acts with a person they do not know? From this starting point we see eight couples regain blurry-eyed consciousness in the same situation, but each reacts and relates with dramatic difference. Sex with Strangers is theatre with a dark sense of humour that uses a provocative premise as a starting point for surreal vignettes about relationships, sexual politics and lifestyles, loneliness and human vulnerability.

This is the premiere of Sex with Strangers, an original New Zealand play by a mixed team of writers - Jodie Molloy (Play 2), Jacques Strauss (Small God), Mario Gaoa (Brotown, Naked Samoans) and new playwright Chris Garland.

Directed by Colin Mitchell (Tape, Two Days in a Dream) and produced by Makerita Urale (Frangipani Perfume). It is an honest look at the consequence of human sexual interaction.

Featuring a cast of 13 superbly talented actors including:

EMILY BARCLAY, PHIL BROWN, DANIELLE CORMACK, ANDI CROWN, STUART DEVENIE, BARNIE DUNCAN, BENJAMIN FARRY, ANNA HUTCHISON, PUA MAGASIVA, NATHAN MEISTER, ENE PETAIA, MADELEINE SAMI, HENRY TARIPO.

Sex with Strangers explores the morning after the event, waking up to deal with the emotions and questions that come from a shared night of physical intimacy. Rejection, confession, celebration, self loathing or self discovery are all part of the messy and sometimes bittersweet interactions between the characters.
