Māori Keyboard Layouts

This site has keyboard definitions for Windows XP/2000 that allow the macron characters (ā, ē, ī, ō, ū etc.) of written Māori to be typed on a standard keyboard.

These keyboard definitions are completely free to download and use, and available to anyone.

Please let me know if you find these useful, or have any other feedback.

If you already know what you want, go straight to the Downloads page.

If you've never seen a keyboard layout before or aren't sure what to do:

If you're really lost, I recommend that you use the New Zealand Māori (Alt) Keyboard Layout.

  • Download the New Zealand Māori (Alt) Keyboard Definition from the Download page.
  • Follow the Setup Instructions to install and configure your keyboard definition.

Check the Frequently Asked Questions if you've got any questions.
Send me an email if you get stuck, and I'll do what I can to help.
