Celebrations of Spirit in Nature
The Woolshed is a place for celebrations of Spirit in Nature. Full Moon is observed on the full moon of each month from 7pm. The eight great Seasonal Festivals are celebrated thoughout the wheel of the year.
These eight great festivals are held as a community festival and meeting point for diverse creeds and cultures to honour the turning of the year and give thanks for its abundance. On the day (or night) people can bring stories, poems, songs, dances, readings, insights etc to contribute to the theme. The ceremonies are followed by pot-luck feasting to which everyone contributes.
WORKING BEE FOR FIREWOOD CUTTING, PIZZA OVEN BUILDING & LIBRARY SORTING
1. Firewood Cutting: Every year we have a working bee to cut firewood for The Woolshed so that you can be nice and warm during our winter rituals. If you have a chainsaw and know how to use it, please come along.
2. Pizza Oven Building: We made a good start on building the oven at Camp but it still needs lots of work. The base is completed and we’re ready to start building the oven.
3. Library Sorting: There are several boxes of donated books yet to be catalogued and some general tidying up to be done. If this is your thing, please come and help.
The more the merrier. Please bring lunch to share. It would be helpful to me (Pamela) if you could let me know if you’re attending and what you’d like to be involved in.
Druid / Lughnasadh Camp 2012
Druid Camp was held on Thursday 19th January to Tuesday 24th January 2012 with the theme Dancing With The Four Winds, Haka Ki Nga Hau e Wha, honouring the Spirits and Gifts of the Four Directions and all people. It was awesome, wonderful, marvellous, insightful and fulfilling!! We truly did “Dance With The Four Winds” and our dance with our gusty visitors was assisted on one day by rain so we had singing gardens as well as they soaked up the sky’s beneficence.
