All of the Families I have interest in emigrated to New Zealand from the 1840’s to the 1880’s. In some cases I have obtained information on these families going back to the early 1500’s and in other cases   I am still searching for information which will provide links back before the 1800’s. .

	Jens and Johanna CHRISTIANSEN  emigrated from Jutland, Denmark to Banks Peninsula, South Island, New Zealand in 1873. They travelled on the Cardigan Castle from Plymouth to Lytlleton . In 1886 the family shifted to Okaiawa, Taranaki, N.Z.

	The information relates to all COTTLE families who emigrated to New Zealand. These families generally all originated in the area near Bath, Somerset, England. Specific interest is in the Wellington branch of the COTTLES. Charles COTTLE and Mary nee DIAMOND along with their two children, William and Charles Joseph emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand on the Catherine Stuart Forbes in 1840.

DOUGAL (DUGALD)

	Elizabeth DOUGAL was born in Glasgow in 1821 and her parents were James DOUGAL and Elizabeth nee FREW.
	Elizabeth emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand on the Bengal Merchant in 1839 and married William TANNAHILL in 1840.

FLORENCE

pre 1860 Culsalmond/Inverurie Aberdeenshire, SCT;  1859 – 1894 Queensland, AUS;  1894 Temuka, N.Z;  1894- Rongotea, Manawatu N.Z.

	James FLORENCE was born in 1855 in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. He emigrated to Queensland, Australia in 1882. He married Catherine WILLOUGHBY in 1883 and the family emigrated to Temuka, New Zealand in 1894. The family then shifted to Rongotea, Manawatu, NZ in 1894.
	Information on the ancestors goes back to around 1600 in the Fyvie parish, Aberdeenshire. (area near Culsalmond)

	John GILL was born in 1818 near Halifax, Yorkshire, England. He married Amelia TURNER in 1839and they emigrated to New Zealand along with their 1 year old son Frederick, in 1841. They lived in Wellington.

	Samuel SCAMMELL was born in 1824 in Hemel, Hemstead, Hertfordshire, England. He came to New Zealand in 1846 with the 65th regiment.He died in 1861 and is buried in New Plymouth, Taranaki.

	The information relates to William TANNAHILL who was born in Ardrossan, Ayrshire in 1819 and emigrated to Wellington New Zealand in 1840. He married Elizabeth DUGALD in 1840 and they lived in the Hutt Valley. The document contains information on early TANNAHILLs in Ayrshire, Scotland and also includes William' s ancestors back to 1634.

	Matthew WATSON born 1835 in Hemingford, Huntingdonshire, England. His parents were James and Mary nee SAWYER. Matthew arrived in New Zealand in 1861 with the 57th regiment and after his discharge in 1865 lived in Taranaki.
