FLORENCE FAMILIES OF SCOTLAND   -   a one name study

Virtually all of the FLORENCE (sometimes spelt FLORANCE) families in Scotland are related and the earliest FLORENCE families lived in Fyvie, Aberdeenshire around the early 1600’s. From here they gradually spread out to neighbouring shires and other counties and ultimately to many parts of the world.

The database now comprises around 7000 individual names and 2000 families. This database is maintained on Brother’s Keeper. In addition a number of word files are continuously updated as new information comes to hand.

In genealogy research is never completed and therefore as more information is obtained these papers will be updated in future years.

One major objective has been to connect as many of the various FLORENCE lines as possible.

Enquirers can obtain a gedcom of this data or  descendant charts for specific lines. Other charts can also be provided.
