FOR PEOPLE WITH SUBSTANTIAL ASSETS

I recommend you read " Protect your Assets " by Ross Holmes, or " Family Trusts " by Martin Hawes. Better still, buy them both, as they are fairly cheap. Both should be readily available from any good bookstore in New Zealand. They are both fairly easy to read, being aimed at the ordinary person, and not as a legal text.

FOR A GOOD READ

If you haven't heard of her before, try Patricia Cornwall's novels. Her character, or hero, is Kaye Scarpetta, a pathologist. Set in America, these are well written and researched, with good plots. If you enjoy a good mystery with a bit of action, then you'll love these.
Not for the overly squeamish, though.

Body Farm - about NZ$10
All That Remains - about NZ$10
Body of Evidence - about NZ$10
From Potter's Field - about NZ$10

Then there is always John Grisham's novels. Although these have a legal connection, you certainly don't have to be a lawyer to understand or enjoy them. They have good believable plots and end with " clifhanging " climaxes. If you enjoy cop films with at least one chase, then these are the books for you, although after a while the plots seem a bit similar to me. Some are a bit different though, such as Rainmaker, but unless you are a lawyer, or hate insurance companies with a vengeance, you might find this particular one a bit boring.
