Brief Work History (with Emphasis on production):

 

1984 - Began full album and soundtrack productions at Mandrill Recording Studios, Parnell.

1986 - Opened Greystoke Music Studio Sydney with EMI/301 recording engineer Dave Marett as business partner.  

1991 - Returned to Mandrill Studios as in-house producer-arranger. Introduced mastering NZ recordings at 301 Sydney, now an industry norm. Commuted for several years between Sydney and Auckland for recording engagements.

1993 - Relocated to York Street Studio on its opening, as in-house producer and keyboard technician.

1999 - Accepted music production work in Osaka, followed by six months in Dubai performing with Latin band Kantuta.

2002 - To the present day, I have been Auckland based working from my home studio. During 2002  researched and co-authored educational book He Koha with Blossom Taewa, published by A H Reed.

2005 - Accepted music production work in Los Angeles with former of York Street owner, Malcolm Welsford.

2006 - Travelled a second time to LA for two more CD productions at Paramount Studios, West Hollywood. Plus the Radio Hauraki 40th anniversary tour (keyboards with Hello Sailor unplugged with Th' Dudes head-lining)

2007 - Freelance musician and band leader-arranger for TV2-Eyeworks/Touchdown "Pops Ultimate Star" series

2008 - Freelance musician and Musical Director of South Pacific Pictures - "New Zealand's Got Talent" in production 25th June - 21st October. Continues to perform with "Hello Sailor".

"He Koha": Co-authored with Blossom Taewa, a collection of popular Maori songs, plus God Defend New Zealand. Music researched and arranged by Stuart Pearce. A book, audio CD and also a "karaoke" CD (playable on DVD, Playstation and Karaoke players)

In association with Manahau Music, Stuart's company also produced and launched He Koha - Maori Karaoke.  It is, to date the biggest selling Karaoke disc in NZ - additionally it was licensed to the NZ Immigration Dept as part of a cultural welcome package.  Stuart Pearce pioneered this first NZ Karaoke format with traditional Maori songs featured in the He Koha book, on video compact disc. He went on to produce 4 volumes of NZ classic pop songs for Laser Direct. Mike Fraser contributed visuals and text to the karaoke CD.
