Application For Enrolment
 
How To Enrol at Southern Lakes English College:
  1. Complete the Application for Enrolment below and press the 'Submit Form Now' button.
  2. We will send / e-mail you or fax your agent, an Offer of Place, stating fees you must pay.
  3. Send us the fees by telegraphic transfer or bank cheque.
  4. When we receive your fees we will send your Certificate of Enrolment and details of accommodation.
  5. As soon as your travel arrangements are finalised, write to the school giving your flight number and time of arrival in Queenstown. We will then send details of your host family.
  6. You should write to the host family, introducing yourself before you leave your country.
  7. You will be met at the Queenstown Airport. Look for someone holding a card or board with your name on it.

Conditions of Enrolment

Courses

1 Southern Lakes English College reserves the right to change course arrangements without prior notice.

Payment of fees

2 You must pay in full in advance for the period of study you request on the Application For Enrolment.

Cancellations and refunds

3.1 If you withdraw from your course of study within 7 days after the start date of the course for which you are enrolled, Southern Lakes English College will: 
Refund all fees less $500 or 10% of course fees, whichever is the lesser. 
(Education Amendment Act No 4 1997, Section 27) 

3.2 You must notify the school of your cancellation in writing. You must return your original Certificate of Enrolment and Receipt and any other material we request, before we refund your fees.

3.3 After 7 days from the start of your course, no fees except the the homestay weekly charge, will be refunded.

3.4 We do not refund your fees or give you a free extension of your course if you: 

  • Arrive late for your course without notifying the College. 
  • Take time off during your course. 
  • Leave before your course is finished (except within the first 7 days). 

We do not give extra weeks of part-time study in place of pre-paid full time study.

Accommodation

4.1 Accommodation is normally available from the Sunday preceding course commencement to the Saturday following its completion.

Any request to change or curtail homestay accommodation must be made to Southern Lakes College 14 days prior to the date of the proposed move.

4.2 We will refund the homestay weekly charges if you find other accommodation. Both your host family and the college must receive 14 day's notice of your intention to leave.

4.3 If you leave your homestay for a short time during your course you must still pay the homestay charge.

4.4 You must be prepared to leave your homestay family when you finish your studies at Southern Lakes English College.

4.5 In arranging accommodation, Southern Lakes English College acts only as an agent and makes payment for it only in this capacity.

Attendance

5 You are expected to punctually attend all lessons, and must comply with the conditions of your permit to stay in New Zealand.

Liability

6.1 It is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate medical and travel insurance. We are happy to arrange this for you if you request it on the Application For Enrolment. The school cannot be held responsible for any sickness, injury, damage or loss incurred within the school or on school activities or tours.

6.2 Southern Lakes English College shall not be liable if the services we state we offer cannot be provided for reasons beyond the school's control.

Privacy policy

7.1 Your personal details, contact information and e-mail address will not be passed on to a third party by Southern Lakes English College. All correspondence between you and SLEC remains private and confidential.
