DOES ANYONE KNOW WHO THESE PEOPLE ARE?

These photos came from hergrandmother's photo album.  Her maiden name, Knapp and her married name, Watterson.  The soldier's photo was taken in Wellington New Zealand, in the 19th century and the lady, probably New Zealand but she didn't know where or when.

I now know who they are!!!

March 2000

She had just found the identity of the soldier here. A relative saw the picture in the NZ Genealogist Magazine of last year and had the same photo. Fortunately it had the name written on the back. It said -
"Sgt Major R.A, Wakelin on the occasion of the visit by the Duke of Edinburgh at Queens Wharf, Wellington, April 1868." He married her great-aunt, Emily NOAKES

She had now identified this lady as being
Una Agnes (Newton) Wakelin, the daughter-in-law of Richard Wakelin, above.  You can see them both in the Wakelin Family picture
