If you are employing an Architect, make sure they are a registered architect

“I know a few who are not” but give the impression they are, if they are not,

you will not be legally allowed to put your house for sale as “designed by an architect”

or anything similar on any web site, in any public publication etc. .

“Make sure they’re the person drawing up the plans” if you need to alter anything

“it is very hard to change things if they are not the one doing the alteration drawings”,

a family friend has found out the hard way.

Don’t use an un-registered architect

(this is one of many problems you will have if you do.)

Check at the web site below to see if they are.
