Musings of an Innocent Goddess
by Tricia Busick

This china doll, with deepest flaw,
But you refuse to see.

I dance, I sing, I play the scene,
The one I'm s'posed to be.

Songbird, dancer, strumpet, whore,
Daughter, lover, friend, and more.

Heart that's broken goes unspoken;
You wipe away the tears.

Life to sever, ceasing never,
'Stead while away the years.
