![]() OK, so you want to know who I am. Well, where to start? It was a frosty 1973 Timaru
morning and my parents got to feeling a little amorous and ... nah we won't
go there!! I can't afford the therapy to get that thought out of
my head!
2) Bachelor of Business (BBS), Massey University - Double Majoring in: Marketing and Communications Management. I have one OLDER brother, and of course two parents, who have been happily married for the last 33 years - which I am in ore of. Both Jason and myself have been blessed with their commitment!!! During this time I attended secondary school at Mountainview High School, and after I had completed 7th form (bursary), I decided that I was not quite ready for university, so I went to 'cabbage' university or Polytechnic, which is the official name for it. Don't misunderstand me, I am not rubbishing the polytechnic system - well not really. After gaining my CBC I had a year off from studies and well, didn't do much. After I had gained my second wind to get back into the education system I shifted to Auckland with my partner at the time and commenced studying at Massey University, Albany campus on Auckland's North Shore. The problem with the Albany campus was that it had only opened the previous year (1993) so the papers on offer were limited. This meant that I had to partake in both internal and extramural (correspondence) courses, as marketing was not an option at the campus. Apart from this, Massey University, Albany was a great place to be. In my final year I joined up with 'Massey University
Business Students Group'. This is a group unique to Massey University
- Albany, and the like cannot be found in any other New Zealand University
institution. Here we took the initiative to facilitate as a means to network
ourselves and introduce other business students at Albany, with the Auckland
corporate sector. It provided business people from the 'real world' an
insight into the academic world. While at
the same time highlighting to students that what the corporate sector wanted
was not necessarily provided by academia!
