Burns Night

So the Kiwis like to dress up for parties likesay, and for the Bard's Birthday we hosted a Burns Supper complete with vegetarian (home made) and meat (not the proper stuff oh no) haggis, and amazing monster thistles.

A jolly good night was had by all, but we only managed the address to the haggis, and not the Scottish Country Dancing.

Powhiri

More kilt action in March when there was a welcome Powhiri for the new CEO of UNITEC, who is originally from Aberdeen too. All the formerly Scottish staff became part of his Whanau to be challenged and then welcomec onto the UNITEC Marae. I was the only male wearing a kilt and Mae pulled me up for not ironing it.

Xmas

Witness the Antipodean suburban family Christmas one more time. Once again my Mum came over from Wollongong, and we spent Christmas with the Arderns again. I think these photos say it all.
