Prana - New Year 2000

Packed my Mum off to Gt. Barrier for New Year, while we went to a dance party cum eco- gathering in Coromandel called Prana. There were 14 of us in our group, we had 9 small tents for bedrooms, and a huge well-stocked tent for a living room.

Hogmany, it rained heavily from 6pm to 6am, but that didn't stop us from having a fantastic night - we just put on t-shirts and shorts and danced in the rain. This photo is the second night - the table and tent got in an even worse state with the rain on Hogmany. Still we managed to keep half the tent dry as a refuge.
There wasn't much of a dawn, but around 8 am the sky cleared and we experienced our first sunshine of the new century. It was a magical moment, as it only cleared up for the hill that Prana was on, just when we went to the top. All around it was still in mist and clouds. The sun was heavenly after the hours of rain, and the site began to dry out.
