Dear Mr Bailey,

Thank you for your fax of 24 January. Your acknowledgement of my earlier messages is noted.

Regarding your comment about marketing TWM services, you may be interested to know that since its inception in 1997 the TWM web site has already attracted significant attention from interested parties overseas.... This will give you some idea of the value of drought mitigation and public water supply augmentation to the global market. The demand is enormous and growing exponentially as cheap sources of clean water become increasingly scarce.....

Your presumption that “considerable sums of money” will be requested by TWM for its services is unfounded. You did not inquire about whether TWM would set a charge, or offer its services free to the farming community. This suggests an inability to view issues in a balanced and impartial light. Moreover, your tendency to prejudge a situation without investigating and establishing the true facts, is inappropriate for a leader of an influential national organization such as Federated Farmers.....

Yours sincerely

John Porter
