I was born 28 August 1948 in Te Awamutu, New Zealand, and finished formal education at the University of Auckland with a B.Sc. degree. My full name is Rodney Sinclair Wilson – I was named after an uncle, Rodney Sinclair, who died in World War 2, while on a bombing run over Leipzig, Germany. I have worked as a high school teacher, patent examiner, patent attorney, printer, masseur, and national secretary of a political party. I am currently working as a computer manager (and webmaster) in a firm of Patent Attorneys in Auckland, called Pipers.
I
was married from 1971 to 1986, and have three children, Ben
(born 1974), Julian (1976) and Emily (1980), and I am a legal guardian
for Athena (born 1983) whom I first met in 1990. Emily and Athena
both attend the same school: Auckland
Girls' Grammar School.
In the picture at right, Emily is on the left, then Ben
(who has his own home page, with a link to his mother's motel) at the
back, my mother, me, and then Julian on the right. It was taken a little
while ago, and all three of Emily, Ben and Julian have got taller since
(or else I have got shorter) but at least Emily is still shorter than my
6 feet (184 cm). Julian's reaction when he saw this page
was: "I
don't have that much hair!" (his hair is just now recovering from
having been totally removed!). Emily doesn't like the picture
at all, and says she hopes nobody ever looks at this page. Athena
is the girl in the picture on the left, and when she saw this page she
just laughed derisively.
Julian, Emily and Athena are currently (1997) living with me, whereas Ben, being 22 now, has finished university, and is off making his own life, and working as a mechanical engineer.
I stood (unsuccessfully) as a candidate in parliamentary elections in 1981 and 1990. It was done on the basis of "I must surely be able to do at least a BIT better then the idiots who are there now". But people kept telling me I am the wrong sort of person to be in politics - too transparent.
I have an interest in a couple of areas of psychology: Psychosynthesis and Psychodrama. Some discussion of Psychosynthesis can be found at Wisdom at Work, or in the Association for the Advancement of Psychosynthesis, but mostly at the Psychosynthesis Home Page. Psychosynthesis is characterised by its acknowledgment of the human spirit, as well as the human personality (most forms of psychology relate only to the personality, and say nothing of the spirit).
Discussion of Psychodrama can be found at the Psychodrama Home Page. Psychodrama uses drama, and the acting out of the dramas that may be going on within us, and is a particularly powerful medium for changing the negative aspects of the patterning that was created when we were young and impressionable.

A good discussion of some of the things that have influenced my ideas of spirituality (which to me are important to my life) can be found in the pages of the University of the Seven Rays, and also to some extent at the White Mountain Lodge.
Other groups that have been important to me are:
The Builders of the Adytum, and the teachings of Paul Foster Case.
The Theosophical Society (see also Theosophy Lodge Online)
The Rosicrucians
For the moment, though, I am involved in the initial stages of a form of Masonry called A.U.M. (Ancient Universal Mysteries).
Like the other sections of these home pages, this particular page is very new, and will be added to over the next little while.
