The Great East Road!
During the Third Age Dwarves mainly used The Great East Road as they traveled from the Misty Mountains to their mines in the Blue Mountains. Stretching from Rivendell in the East to Lindon and the Grey Havens in the West, the road was the only course available to Arwen as she rushed Frodo towards the Ford of Bruinen and the relative safety of Rivendell!
Frodo, having been stabbed by the sword of the Nazgul, was nearing death and needed the medicine of the Elf's to recover. However, the Nazgul were still in close pursuit of Frodo and the ring he carried. Arwen knew that once across the River Bruinen, the magic of her people would protect them from the Nazgul. And so she took Frodo on Asfoloth, her trusty white steed, and galloped down the Great East Road towards the River Bruinen with the Nazgul in close pursuit!
This property is on private land but it recently has been sectioned off, had electric run into it and is now for sale. Being close to Wanaka, a big tourist destination in New Zealand, the soaring prices of land is apparently more then the owner can resist. The land is beautiful and flat and boarders the Clutha River. This river has excellent fishing and has relative limited access because of the steep banks on either side which are further restricted by private property. Another piece of paradise for sale!
