Staffordshire CRADDOCKs

Staffordshire seems to be the main centre for the Craddock family.   Well before the advent of parish registers in the 1500s, the Craddocks were well established in this region.   An examination of both the IGI, and the indexes of the GRO from 1837-1890, shows that Staffordshire has many more entries than any other county in England and Wales.  Several Cradock families in other parts of the country claim descent from the Cradocks of Staffordshire.

I have discovered several printed pedigrees for the armigerous family of Staffordshire, but most contain serious errors.  The following pedigree is probably fairly accurate as the information was provided by William Cradock at the visitation of 1597.  One would assume that he would have personal knowledge of his family as far as he has named them.
