Having sailed with Phillip over a 48 hour period on the charter vessel “Island star” a 45ft catamaran, I have found him more than competent in the areas such as coastal navigation, night sailing, ship handling, manoeuvring, seamanship and anchoring.

 

 

I have issued Phillip with an Island Rover Charters day skipper’s certificate that allows him to charter any one of our vessels without a skipper.

 

 

Phillip came across as confident but cautious, making safety his first priority.

 

 

He is very easy going with a sense of humour and a gourmet menu to please any appetite.

 

 

I have no reservations about recommending Phillip to any prospective charter operator, employer, or any skipper for coastal or offshore crewing positions and wish him well in his future endeavours.
