RE Sea Service and Testimonial for Phillip Clarke:
Phillip Clarke,
Passport No N965687
Has served on the yacht “Millennium” a 50 ft Roberts sloop,
Gross Tonnage 16, for the period 10/06/02 until 05/09/02 in the capacity of 1st Mate/ Navigator, under my command.
During this period the above named officer was in full charge of watchkeeping and navigation (including weather gathering via weather fax) and weather interpretation for not less than 8 hours per day and was on call for the remaining period whilst engaged in voyages covering New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and all outlying Islands, covering 4,500 miles. In addition the above named officer assisted in routine maintenance of the ship.
My report on the services of the above named officer during the period stated is as follows:
Conduct: All duties were carried out cheerfully and
enthusiastically and got on very well with all people he made contact with.
Phil is an excellent cook
and took charge of all radio communications (including weather faxes) through
out the voyage.
Experience/ Ability:
Phil is extremely competent and
familiar with all aspects of sailing, navigation, communications and kept the
crew happy with great meals.
Behaviour/ Sobriety:
Phillips responsible behaviour and
sobriety was in keeping with an officer of his calibre.
I would have no
hesitation in recommending Phil to any prospective maritime position.
Yours Sincerely,
Morrie Page,
(Master “Millennium”)
