è 500 meters from a marine farm

è 500 meters from a mataitai reserve {customary fishing reserve}

è 200 meters from a marine reserve

è and in waters more than 5 meters deep.

DOES YOUR LIFE RAFT NEED SERVICING / SURVEYED / INSPECTION?

As from the 1^st January 2003 “The International Sailing Federation” recommends all life rafts be serviced / surveyed / inspected by a manufacturer approved and certified company. If your life raft is surveyed / serviced / inspected by a service station that is

NOT APPROVED BY THE MANUFACTURER then product warranties may be void, any liabilities may well pass to the owner and the owner will be putting all on board at risk. Manufacturers construct their life rafts to standards on the basis that they will be serviced / surveyed annually.

In New Zealand, contact the MARITIME SAFETY OFFICE in your area for a list of life raft stations and the brands of life rafts these companies are approved to service / survey / inspect. www.msa.govt.nz

Vacuum-pact type life rafts only require an inspection to determine if any moisture is present and if not the repacker can just reseal the canister for the second & third annual inspection.

NOTICE TO OWNERS OF LIFE RAFTS.

Do not put your family, yourself and crew at risk. Have your life raft serviced surveyed inspected Bi annually.
