Australian Light Horse Association
This site is dedicated to the Australian Light Horse Regiments, and the Light Horsemen who served their country in both war and peace. It is sponsored by The Australian Light Horse Association Ltd whose aim is to preserve the history and tradition of the Australian Light Horse and its predecessors.
The CWRS exists to honour and remember those that fell in the war and to study the war in its entirety - from mainstream topics to little known aspects of the war such as the invention of the Midget Submarine and the naval actions in the Pacific.
This site aims to gather information, and the location of photos and films, for a forthcoming exhibition to be titled Defending Victoria. See general overview on the Exhibition page. New photos and information will bring a fresh dimension to this subject. The exhibition will rekindle pride in the military history of colonial and post colonial Victoria.
A great organisation. The Gallipoli Association's objective is to preserve the memory of the men who served in, and commemorate the events of, the campaign on the Gallipoli Peninsula. The Association has members worldwide. They range from veterans of the campaign itself, authors, specialists and amateur historians, to relatives of those who served and those who simply have a desire to remember. The Association produces a very worthwhile and informative quarterly publication, 'The Gallipolian', which is sent to all members.
German Society of Orders Collectors
For more then 20 years, the BDOS e.V., is a medium for the collectors of all countries. The society counts more then 1400 members in Germany and all over the world. Two annual meetings and a lot of different happenings proofs the activity of our and your society. They provide: Basic research, Scientific work, Information, Information about Fakes and World wide contacts. All members are supplied by the two monthly issued Orders and Medals Magazine OMM (written in German). An informative magazine with topics for everyone.
The Great War Society encourages discussion, learning, scholarship and independent research on the events surrounding the First World War. Historical Society of Ireland's National Police
The Society's aim is to bring the history and traditions of policing in Ireland (especially the history of the Garda Síochána) into the public arena in an organised fashion. To this end, the Society organises lectures and exhibitions through out Ireland and also acts as a support service for the development of the Garda Museum/Archives.

The Society produces a quarterly Journal, which contains articles, many of them illustrated, on these subjects. As many members have wider interests, features on foreign awards are also included from time to time. The Medal Society of Ireland is happy to accept for publication in the Journal articles of interest to the membership, from both members and non-members.

Naval Historical Collectors & Research Association
Formed in 1988 by a group of naval enthusiasts, the Association now has members in 18 countries. Many are avid collectors of medals, naval memorabilia, postcards, weapons etc., or are engaged in research into naval battles, ships, personnel or family history. We also operate a research service covering service records, honours and awards, ship chronologies for WW2, etc. Our quarterly journal, The Review, is packed with information and articles, many written by members after lengthy and detailed research. It is also a platform for members to seek and exchange information.
New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum
Situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the South Island of New Zealand is the largest collection of flyable World War II fighters in the Southern Hemisphere. Wanaka Airport is host to the New Zealand Fighter Pilots Museum and the Alpine Fighter Collection. The Alpine Fighter Collection have over twenty classic aircraft from the piston engine era either flying or under restoration. Combined with these famous aircraft is a museum that not only displays the aircraft but also provides an insight into an era that has now passed. You mightn't be able to visit the museum (its fantastic !!) but you should visit this site.

The Orders and Medals Society of Denmark was established April the 27th, 1966, with the aim to further the study of the history of orders and medals in a comprehensive context. By publishing the Journal of the Orders and Medals Society of Denmark and by organising meetings, travels, excursions, and exhibitions the Society seeks to propagate knowledge about and interest in the history and cultural and social importance of the institution of orders, medals, and other decorations. The Society is the founder of the Historical Collection of Orders and Medals which embrace orders, medals, patents etc. acquired through inheritance, donation, or purchase. The Collection may be used for study purposes and exhibitions.
Scottish Military Historical Society
For thirty years the society has united a fraternity of like-minded enthusiasts around the world and sharing a common interest in the history of Scotland and its regiments. The Scottish Military Historical Society exists to encourage the study of Scottish military history in its various collecting forms. Membership is open to anyone interested in that study, be they amateur or professional. The society covers such subjects as the collecting of information, badges, buttons, plaid brooches, head-dress, uniforms, medals, books, photographs, postcards, prints, water colours, military equipment, and Scottish weapons.
South African Military History Society
The South African Military History Society was formed 31 years ago in Johannesburg by a core group of amateur historians with the purpose of studying and promoting the studying of military history. Since that time, it has grown to a Society of approximately 500 members primarily located in three branches, namely Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, as well as members located throughout the world. Activities of the Society are publication of research in the bi-annual Military History Journal, Monthly lectures in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, Monthly newsletters, Day visits to battlefields, Weekend visits to battlefields.
Texas Military Historical Society
The Texas Military Society is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and experiencing the period of 1939-1945. It is in that idea that the Society was formed to promote and strengthen the World War II reenactor hobby. Their purpose is to portray, present and recreate the diverse groups of soldiers that fought in the conflict. They are based on authenticity and safety foremost, with political motivations playing neither part nor aspect in our organisation or its activities.
The Western Front Association was formed with the aim of furthering interest in the period 1914-1918 to perpetuate the memory, courage and comradeship of both sides who served their countries in France and Flanders and in their own countries during the Great War. It does not seek to glorify war, it is not a re-enactment society nor is it commercially motivated. It is entirely non-political and application for membership will be welcomed from anyone with like mind.
The membership of the World Ship Society includes not only recognised authorities on naval and shipping matters but also ordinary enthusiasts who enjoy the branch activities which are organised at more than 50 centres worldwide. These include talks and slide shows, ship visits, cruises and general social activities. The Society publishes a monthly magazine, MARINE NEWS, which includes naval deployments and monthly lists of sales, transfers, renaming and casualties for merchant vessels, as well as general articles and branch news. The Society also publishes a wide range of books covering all aspects of shipping including histories of shipping companies.
