News for: March 14

News for: March 3

Justine is paddling in the South,
with Paul Caffyn (who better) as a guide.

Marcus Choy has worked his way up to the NI.

The Greenland experts have arrived, paddled over to Rangitoto to see the sights and over to Tiri to see the Takahe. Gusting 31 knots as we landed on Tiri beach - so they've been welcomed to the country in proper Auckland style.

You are not going to believe Freya's 4-part carbon-fibre single. It weighs all of 13 kilos and it looks like you could easily put it inside a Euro. Seems to go upside down quite often - but always pops back up with a smile...

We may need volunteers for a Walrus pull team. Any tug-of-war veterans out there ?

JKA has had to 'pull the pin' & chopper out.

He's busily re-writting his "How I (partially)
circumnavigated Stwart Island" session.
Bad luck John - going to be a GOOD story

Peter Sommerhalder & Vincent Maire
are heading sessions - good men to listen to.

We've set up some Masterclasses
on the Monday after CB
for anyone wanting to take
GP paddling & rollling techniqes further.

What is Coastbusters 2006 ?

A weekend of fun, seminars, workshops, panel discussions and practical sea kayaking sessions.

The 11th Coasbusters Symposium is being held in Auckland. Some will be on the shores of beautiful Lake Pupuke, while Sunday will be at even-more-beautiful Sullivans Bay.

This summer's Coastbusters features some amazing speakers and skilled kayakers from around New Zealand and overseas.

Who is Coastbusters for ?

Novices, intermediate and advanced sea kayakers - anyone with an interest in sea kayaking (some paddling experience required for Sunday's on-the-water sessions).

This is the biggest New Zealand sea kayaking symposium. It is a chance to meet other kayakers, compare gear and gadgets, listen to speakers from far and near, watch mind-boggling demonstrations and be astounded by what some kayakers get up to!

How do I reserve a place ?

What participants liked the best...

"Being on/off the water with experienced paddlers in a knowledgeable sharing forum" - Phil

"Meeting new people and old friends. Time spent on the water" - Peter

"Everything! If I had to pick one thing, as an instructor, I benefited most from watching and learning from other instructors' teaching styles. I also liked the "dry one day, wet the next" format." - Shawn (USA)
