Marcus Choy has worked his way up to the NI. The Greenland experts have arrived, paddled over to Rangitoto to see the sights and over to Tiri to see the Takahe. Gusting 31 knots as we landed on Tiri beach - so they've been welcomed to the country in proper Auckland style. You are not going to believe Freya's 4-part carbon-fibre single. It weighs all of 13 kilos and it looks like you could easily put it inside a Euro. Seems to go upside down quite often - but always pops back up with a smile... We may need volunteers for a Walrus pull team. Any tug-of-war veterans out there ? |

What is Coastbusters 2006 ? A weekend of fun, seminars, workshops, panel discussions and practical sea kayaking sessions. The 11th Coasbusters Symposium is being held in Auckland. Some will be on the shores of beautiful Lake Pupuke, while Sunday will be at even-more-beautiful Sullivans Bay. This summer's Coastbusters features some amazing speakers and skilled kayakers from around New Zealand and overseas. Who is Coastbusters for ? Novices, intermediate and advanced sea kayakers - anyone with an interest in sea kayaking (some paddling experience required for Sunday's on-the-water sessions). This is the biggest New Zealand sea kayaking symposium. It is a chance to meet other kayakers, compare gear and gadgets, listen to speakers from far and near, watch mind-boggling demonstrations and be astounded by what some kayakers get up to! How do I reserve a place ? Download the Coastbusters 2006 Right click and save target to your computer, print it out and return it with a cheque to the address on the form. The cancellation policy is in the Registration Form. email us if you need us to post you the form: Note: Coastbusters 2004 filled up early and we had to turn some hopefuls away. Where's it being held ? Milford Primary School, bordering Lake Pupuke. On Shakespeare Road, Milford, Auckland. See Coastbusters location. Coming from out of Auckland? See Where to stay. Sunday's on-the-water and on-the-beach sessions will be at Sullivan's Bay (at the mouth of the Mahurangi, just north of Auckland). Event dates ? Starting Friday night 17th March 2006 at 6.30pm, the all day Saturday and Sunday. What does it cost ? Coastbusters is a registered non-profit organisation. The entry fee of $115 includes: all sessions, demonstrations and workshops on Friday night and Saturday; as well as Sunday's on-the-water and on-the-beach activities. Also included is Saturday's lunch, refreshments and a banquet dinner; and a BBQ lunch on Sunday afternoon.
