Nigel Parker has been a student at Kristin School since 1981 when he entered as a Kindergarten pupil. As the culmination of a very successful school career, he has been working this year towards a University Bursary. In the end of year exams he was achieving at a high A Bursary standard.

Nigel is a highly motivated student with above average academic ability, especially in Science and Mathematics. He shows an independent, diligent and mature approach to his studies and has excellent skills in accurately solving problems at a sophisticated level. In addition he expresses himself well in both oral and written work.

During his years at this school, Nigel has gained many academic awards, including prizes in Art, Science, Mathematics and Physical Education. Notable also, was a 1992 award for Attitude and Perseverance, and three consecutive Certificates of Credit in the Australian Mathematics Competition beginning in 1990.

For the last two years, Nigel has been a member of the school cricket Ist XI, after playing the game throughout his life here and captaining the 2nd XI in 1992-93. He also played rugby for Kristin and in 1989 won an award for Contribution to Sport.

Nigel has the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh medal and also a Defensive Driving Certificate. He has done voluntary work with younger pupils in the Junior school and a teacher describes him as being a reliable, courteous and willing assistant who related extremely well to young children, showing patience and initiative.

Nigel is a quietly confident person with relaxed social skills and a sense of integrity. He has a good sense of humour.

He is a promising young man and as such is recommended by Kristin School.
