Southern Oscillation: events

February 25, Sunday, 10am : The Soundgarden

Next on our calendar of events is the Soundgarden, which is part of the Lyttelton Street Party. We'll be hoping for fine weather when we play outside in the lovely Rose Garden in Lyttelton.

The Rose Garden is above the playing fields on Oxford Street. Head up the hill past the school. The entrance to the playing fields is about 30 metres up the hill to your left. To get to the Rose Garden, you can either go up the steps at the back of the playing field or head up the hill a little furthe and follow the driveway between the pool and the playing fields.

We'd love to see you there. We're polishing up our tunes specially for you.

Leif & Henri started the evening for us (it's a shame you can't see all of their computers).

Next up Stanier Black5 played a fine selection of tunes. No photos, sorry. My bad.

Finally Dr Hitchcock rocked the party.

November 9 '06 : ELECTROCABARET @ Wunderbar

The first of Southern Oscillation's ELECTROCABARET events bleeped and rumbled away at the Wunderbar on Thursday 9 November. The line-up was Organism (top photo), l'Archivist (lower left photo), and Snippet (lower right photo). Although the crowd was a little thin on the ground, everyone who turned up was treated to some very fine minimal techno sounds. If you didn't come, you certainly missed out.

In other catch-up news, we had a blast at Massive's Winter Soulstice dance party on June 17. Here are some pix to prove it.

Keep an eye out for us around and about, we don't keep our Web site up to date but that doesn't mean that we're idle. Organism and Andrew played at the Wunderbar on May 4.

2005 stuff:

A somewhat reduced in number Southern Oscilation collective provided the chillout zone at Massive's Equinox dance party in September. We didn't get many photos but you can find some here.

July saw us looking after the chillout zone and tearooms at Massive's Soulstice dance party. We must have done something right, because they have asked us back. It was an awesome event. The night was perfect. Can you imagine a mid-winter night where you don't need to wear 5 layers of clothing? The pod of whales that we spotted in the afternoon must have been a good omen. January was the inaugral event that was Southern Oscillation. Again, the weather was perfect and the crowd wonderful. We want to stage another Southern Oscillation some time next year – but we don't know when. Let us know if you are interested in attending or performing and we'll do our best to keep in touch.
