Lawrence Joseph Mullen Jr. was born in Artane, Dublin Ireland on October 31 1961. He is
the baby of the band. It was Larry who placed the notice on Mount Temple High School's
bulletin board looking for members to start a band, it read: "I wasted money on a drum
kit, did anyone do the same thing with guitars and would like to form a band?". So, five
guys met in Mullen’s kitchen and, as it happened Larry was the only one with any
musical experience. He learnt to play the piano at a younger age but gave it away for the
drums. He is known as the shy, level headed member of the band and the only one who
hasn't changed his hairstyle. Larry lives in Sutton, Ireland with his high school
sweetheart Ann Acheson and their son Aaron Elvis and their new addition to the family, a
baby girl born on 23 December 1998.  Larry and Ann have named their new arrival Ava
after the actress Ava Gardner.
