Leone's
Bits
Welcome
to my page. I'm Leone and my partner is Eughan. One of
our/my loves is gardens... (visiting other people's) and gardening in our
own. When we first moved into our home the previous owners had no
gardens to speak of so it meant starting from the beginning and deciding
what we would like and the kind of plants and trees that we wanted to have.
We landscaped it and with lots of work, which included making new gardens
- laying brick paths - putting in some stone steps and walls and digging
out and putting in a pond - now full of goldfish, lily pads and frogs -
it's starting to feel like we are getting there.
Here
are some pictures of our garden.
Quilting,
and Cross stitch. I've always been interested in sewing and that led
to patchwork/quilting, and cross stitch - I especially like working with
Amish colours for wall-hangings. I have a queen size quilt on the
go at the moment - but find I mostly work in the winter on them. (Here
are some pictures of my work)
Walking
the dog (and the cat)
We take long walks with Oliver (our big black retriever), who is
lots of fun and great company. (He especially loves the children.)
Our cat is Amadeus and he occasionally comes for walks with us too.
The bay is just five minutes away and Oliver gets wet any opportunity that
arises.
Baking
and Cooking. I've always been passionate about baking. Anything
associated with breads, muffins, cakes etc. and I'm always on the lookout
for new and interesting recipes to try. I love to cook too, and when
there's time - have the occasional meal out with Eughan.
Family.
Eughan and I have a combined family of seven - three of mine and four of
his. Mine are Chris, Lara and Matt who are in their 20's and
live in Christchurch, which is about 5 - 6 hours away from Dunedin and
every chance we get we head up to see them, and vice versa. Eughan's
are Emma-Kate, Barnaby, Jacob and Hamish and range in age from 10 to 18.
We have the youngest three every second weekend and half of all the holidays
- so at times the house is very active, especially if any of mine are here
as well. Holidays are always special times - and more often than
not, the lounge floor is turned into a bedroom come night-time, so as to
accommodate everyone when the house is full - they are the times that I
love.
I enjoy
travelling to new places (which isn't often) and meeting people... listening
to music and reading - baking in my kitchen, Spring, and leaves in Autumn
- and being with Eughan and our children.
