Lothlorien

Lothlórien is a Celtic group taking its name from a magical forest found in Tolkien's 'Lord of the Rings'.

The three-piece group, based in Auckland, New Zealand, plays Celtic music mainly from Ireland, Scotland and England.

Lothlórien plays both traditional and contemporary songs and tunes, from eerie and haunting (in the style of Clannad and Loreena McKennitt) to jaunty and lively (traditional jigs, reels and hornpipes).

Amongst our influences - Clannad, Loreena McKennitt, Capercaillie, Dervish, Deanta, Altan, Solas and many others...

Lothlórien have released an album 'Greenwood Side', recorded at 'Ghostwood Studio' during 1999.  (See our 'Recordings' page for more details, including how to order a copy from CDstreet.com).
