What will He Teach? WHAT IS THE TEACHING ON WORLD SAVIOURS ? For nearly two thousand years, the peoples of the Earth have expected a Messiah to come and save the world. Now the time has arrived for we are at the end of one age and on the brink of another. The difficulties and chaos of the present proclaim the close of a civilisation or culture. With the New Age comes an expectancy for the return of One, a Divine Intermediary, who will affect the entire world in such a manner that His influence will save it from collapse and disaster and will be felt for thousands of years. The doctrine of Saviours, Messiahs, Avatars and Divine Teachers is found in all the scriptures of the world. In Christianity the Christ has said, "I am come that they may have life" and "Lo! I am with you all the days even unto the end of the age." If we turn to the Hindu scriptures the same
promise is made by Shri Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita; Today the time has arrived for the reappearance of Christ, but our understanding, help and effort is needed to prepare the way. There is also a need on our part to invoke Him by our longing, desire and intention, and by using the Great Invocation. When speaking of the Christ we are referring to His official name as Head of the Hierarchy. The Christ works for all men and does not belong to any one religion. He belongs to all religions as much as He does to Christianity. To be affiliated to the Christ does not require any person to join the Christian church. The Christ is the Director of the Kingdom of God on Earth, the World Teacher. He is known in the Orient as the Bodhisattva and as the Lord Maitreya, and is looked for by the devout Mohammedan under the name of the Imam Mahdi. He is known as the great Lord of Love and Compassion, the Master of the Masters, and the Instructor of the Angels. Today He is to be found in a physical body, dwelling in Central Asia where daily He pours out His blessing on the world. As the World Teacher, He presides over the destiny of the great religions, through the medium of a group of Masters and Initiates, who direct the activities of these different schools of thought. An example of His activities is His overshadowing of His great Brother, the Master Jesus, who is the inspirer or director of the Christian church. To Christ is committed the guidance of the spiritual destinies of men and the development of the realisation within man that he is a child of God and a son of the Most High. The human side or nature of the Christ is perfected and sensitive to the appeal of men, while His divine side is responsive to the impact of energies from high Spiritual sources. He will come as the God-Man, the Leader of His people, and "the Eldest in a great family of brothers." Quotes Throughout the ages mankind has held the conviction that at the hour of man's greatest need some great Teacher, Saviour, Revealer, Lawgiver or Divine Representative must come forth from the world of spiritual realities. Today that time has arrived. Because of man's suffering the invocative cry of humanity is so great and more selfless than at any other time in history, that it impels the Head of the Hierarchy, the Christ, to take action. That action will lead to His return, with His disciples. We have now reached the end of an age, and as we enter the New Age fresh spiritual insights will flood human consciousness. For decades, the reappearance of Christ, the Avatar, has been anticipated, not only by the Christian faithful, but also by those who look for Maitreya and for the Bodhisattva, as well as those who expect the Imam Mahdi. This is the doctrine of Mediators, of Messiahs, of a Christ and of Avatars, which is found running through the world scriptures. The name given to this Great One is unimportant, what matters is that many major religions expect a Divine Being to appear and save humanity. The Christ is returning because it is a time of world crisis, of evil rampant, and because the invocative cry of suffering humanity for divine relief has presented Him with a unique occasion to return and a responsibility to respond. Today He is a living, working, active Christ who is laying His plans for the future helping of humanity assessing His resources, influencing His disciples, and organising the details which will attend His appearance. "For the salvation of the righteous and the destruction of such as do evil, and the firm establishing of the Law, I come to birth, age after age." (Bhagavad Gita:Bk.1V, Sutra 7,8) WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SIGNS THAT POINT TO HIS RETURN? The present time is unique because the Christ today is presented with a unique occasion due to world conditions which have never occurred before. These conditions are: 1. Our world is a new world; new ideas are occupying people's minds and new problems await solution. 2. Our world is essentially one world.
3. Today man is more sensitive to the new, better educated, more enquiring, more discriminating and more aware of the significance of events. 4. Because of the changing role of the churches due to the education and evolution of men and to a new sense of freedom from dogma and orthodoxy, the time is ripe for His return. This provides a great opportunity for the restoration of true religion and a return to spiritual living. 5. Apart from a general expectancy of His coming, much today is taught about the Kingdom of God, of the Spiritual Hierarchy of the planet. Esotericists and occultists in all lands have been, and are, familiarising the public by the thousands if not millions, regarding the Masters of the Wisdom, the Great White Brotherhood or Hierarchy of "just men made perfect." The world, then, is being uniquely prepared for the reappearance of Christ. 6. There are countless spiritual forces or groups, religious, philosophical and humanitarian, who are working to aid and lift humanity. Consciously or unconsciously they are preparing the way for the coming of Christ. 7. The teachings of Buddha, the Enlightened One, are penetrating into Western consciousness, and His teachings on the Noble Eight-fold Path are not only desperately needed today, but will provide the foundation on which the Christ will raise a new superstructure of the brotherhood of man. 8. Never before have so many groups- communal national and international - got together in conference to discuss, study and work for human welfare. Since Christ is the Messenger of Liberation, stimulating group spirit and consciousness and binding men together for the common good, this phenomenon of forums, leagues and conferences is another sign that the Christ is on His way. 9. The unhappy state of the world and the desperate need of countless millions of men and women for love, justice and peace, have created an invocative cry, prayer or demand directed towards high spiritual sources. Go to Top The word "reappear" is used instead of "return" because the Christ has always been here upon our Earth watching over the spiritual destiny of humanity. The complexity of the world scene is great, but the overall emerging pattern is hopeful. The hour of His coming has now arrived, though it is not for us yet to know the exact date of His return. His coming is Imminent and the early signs of His approach can already be discerned in the coming together spiritually, of those who love their fellows and in the work of the New Group of World Servers. In the early stages the work of preparation will be carried out by politicians, financiers, educators and religious teachers who are all spiritually motivated. Their work will appeal by suitableness and saneness. A number of events covering a period of time will also be occurring. Judaism will be seen to be fading away, while Christianity will be beset by divisions and many of its teachings will be becoming obsolete. Buddhism will be spreading around the world and this can be seen today. There are now one hundred thousand American-born Buddhists, films are being made about Buddhism, Hollywood celebrities are converting to Buddhism and bookshops and groups are springing up everywhere in the Western world. The five major spiritual centres of London, New York, Geneva, Darjeeling and Tokyo will be becoming increasingly active and later will have a Master there on the physical plane organising His group and "evoking general recognition and guaranteeing to the public the fact of the Hierarchy..." All of this will occur over a period of time. For example, the two centres of London and New York were already showing signs of life in 1949, as also was Geneva to a lesser degree. When all is ready, several Masters will appear as human beings in the modern world and will take their place recognisably on the world stage. They will precede the Christ into outer manifestation and we may expect His appearance at a somewhat later date. He will then play His part before the eyes of the world. When this will take place depends upon humanity, and whether all disciples play their part to set the stage as required. The preconditions above spell out in detail what this means. For it is Humanity that determines when the Christ will return. Quote. WHAT WILL THE CHRIST BE LIKE ? The image of Christ presented to us has not been an appealing one, neither has it been accurate. He is pictured as a sweet sentimental sufferer who is exclusive and demands a unique position beside God to the exclusion of all other Sons of God. He is portrayed as a "man of sorrows", a silent figure, and the emphasis of the churches is still on His death. But the real Christ is a living Christ, not a dead one. He is a strong and able executive Who, with His Masters, is engaged in planning what is needed and assessing and organising the detail of His reappearance on earth. As there exist no religious barriers in His consciousness He knows and loves all who retain the allegiance to their own Founders - the Buddha, Mohammed, and others. He sees the divinity in all men and fully comprehends the techniques for the evolution of the development of human consciousness. He has no use for fanaticism or hysterical devotion to His cause. Those who look to the past and to the erroneous presentation of Christ may find it hard to recognise Him when He comes, for He may appear in any nation and be of any nationality. He may appear as a Russian, a Negro or an Englishman. He may be a Buddhist, a Hindu or Christian, or belong to no faith at all. The main trend of Christ's work will not necessarily be through the Churches, though He will work through them. Who can tell whether He will return as an economist, a scientist, a politician or a leader of the people? WHAT ARE THE THREE WAYS IN WHICH HE WILL RETURN ? He will not come as an omnipotent God, as triumphant warrior or a conquering hero. Nor will He come as the Messiah of the Jews to save the Holy Land because He belongs to the whole world. He will not come to convert the 'heathen' world, for no such world exists for Him. He will not suddenly appear among men, nor will He take infant form. He will not return in pomp and ceremony and power, for His main objective is to make public the already existent Kingdom of God. He will come in three ways. Firstly, by stimulating man's spiritual consciousness and nurturing the Christ consciousness found in every human heart. This has already been most effectively done. Secondly by impressing the minds of enlightened men everywhere and by the overshadowing of all world disciples with spiritual ideas embodying the new truths. Progress has been made in this area as can be seen by all the organisations that have been created to help humanity. Thirdly, plans have been and are being laid so that He may come in person and walk among men as He did before. He and the Masters of the Wisdom will make public appearances and begin to work openly and outwardly in the world of men. Christ will return to lead humanity into Jerusalem which is not a Jewish city but "the place of peace", a new civilisation and state of consciousness. He is expected as "coming in the clouds of the sky" but this may mean His coming by aeroplane from the place where He has been for generations. He will play His part before the eyes of the entire world through radio and television. His part will be heard and watched by all, for He is returning as the Founder of the Kingdom of God on Earth, to complete the work He started long ago. Quotes. It has been said that at the end of the age there will be a vast confrontation between the forces of evil and good. This is the battle of Armageddon, "the place of the last decisive battle at the Day of Judgement". Whether this judgement is immediate or will occur after a thousand years together with the resurrection, is variously argued. However, it can be stated that the Prince of Peace, the Christ, has already taken a definite part in the battle of Armageddon, which we know as World War II. This was itself a continuation of World War 1. Symbolically, He can now lead humanity into "Jerusalem", the city of peace, if we want it badly enough. As stated previously, the word "Jerusalem" signifies "a place of peace" and does not refer to the well-known city of that name. The return of Christ is not to be feared but to be looked forward to as the greatest event of the last two thousand years. He is here not to judge, condemn or execute retribution. He is here with His Masters and angels to demonstrate the reality of the Kingdom of God and to release fresh spiritual insights to humanity. For those of us still alive then, it will undoubtedly be a most wonderful experience, for we will participate in a momentous period of human history. This activity, the reappearance of the Christ, is the tremendous event, which is now beginning to take place. WHO OR WHAT IS THE ANTI-CHRIST OR BEAST? At the end of the age, it is claimed that the evil system fathered by the devil, will find embodiment in a towering magnetic figure who will wrest control of the world. This is the anti-Christ, though other Biblical scholars feel what is meant is not a person but an evil system, which will arise, for the word "anti-Christ" means against or instead of Christ, that is, the opposer of Christ. However that may be, a person of tremendous charisma is expected to rise to power so legitimately that none will suspect the evil power of this ambitious world dictator. This anti-Christ, also called the Beast, whose number is 666, is the great opponent and counterpart for the true Messiah Who will defeat him in the battle of Armageddon. The work of the anti-Christ is only now rising to its height. The teachings now being given out to the world tell us that the Christ and the anti-Christ represent the dualities of spirituality and materialism. The anti-Christ or Beast has the number 666: the number six is the number of form, matter - that is, of manifestation. 666 is thus the number of pure materialism in the three worlds, the physical, the emotional and the world of thought. In man this represents his lower nature which seeks to destroy the higher life An integrated person may express this energy potently, for through false teachings, the use of mass suggestion and through apparent miracles he or she may force men to walk in illusion. Man then becomes deluded by riches, possessions and false teachings, which lead him woefully astray. It is only by bringing in soul energy to illumine the mind that the pathway to destruction may be avoided. The duality of spirituality and materialism, of Christ and anti-Christ, refers both to the individual and to humanity as a whole. This is the conflict that individuals and nations must face and win. It is the ancient battle between the forces of materialism, as expressed through hatred, aggression and separateness, and the forces of Light expressed through love, selflessness, sharing and synthesis. We must continue to work for world understanding, peaceful relations and for the expression of love and inclusiveness in our lives. WILL CHRIST FORCE US TO OBEY HIM? The return of Christ is associated with fear, condemnation and Judgement. We are told He will come "in power and glory" and will take control of the world after the battle of Armageddon. We have already covered some of these ideas, giving an alternative view. The true method of the Christ and His Masters will be to help to expand man's consciousness, to enable men and women to discover spiritual values for themselves and to use their own free will to change themselves. Man has to stand on his own feet and act as an independent divine unit of humanity, not as an automation. Mankind must be led through right understanding, not by the Christ or anyone else using the methods of totalitarian regimes. The occult law of spiritual freedom must be recognised and protected. Coercion is not permitted, the minds of men must be left free. Christ and His Masters will stimulate the souls of men, resulting in the expression of love and understanding. At no time will the Hierarchy infringe the natural processes of evolutionary growth or infringe the divine right of men to make their own decisions. IS CHRIST ONLY FOR THE CHRISTIANS? The Head of the Hierarchy or Kingdom of God is known by His official title of "the Christ". He belongs to all faiths and also to those who belong to no faith at all. He is the World Teacher and is expected by the faithful of many religions. He is called by many names: The Bodhisattva, the Lord Maitreya and the Imam Mahdi are three of the names He is known by. Around Him are gathered His Masters of the Wisdom and all those who down the ages have passed into The Kingdom of God. These Great Souls include Representatives of all the world faiths who under the Christ are waiting to carry out His bidding. They will demonstrate to man that he is not alone in this universe. The founders of all the great modern religions since 700 BC have come forth from the great teaching department headed by the Christ and will work with Him at the "end of the age" (Matt. 28:20). They are here to usher in a new age of brotherhood and peace on Earth. Christians must open their minds to the truth that Christ represents all faiths and is a World Teacher, and not solely a Christian teacher. What makes a man or woman a Christian is not the accepting of any historical fact or religious creed. The true Christian is one who loves his fellow man, who is seeking illumination and is attempting through self-imposed discipline to change his motives and mode of behaviour. Quotes. It is apparent that this work will include all the main areas of human functioning such as science, religion education, business, politics, economics and true social living. The main objective of the Christ is to bring an end to separateness. This divides man from man, family from family, community from community, and finally, nation from nation. His teaching will probably fall into four parts. I. The Establishing of Right Human Relations The power of Spiritual Forces focused through Christ and His working disciples will be so great, the practicality of right human relations become so evident, that world affairs will rapidly be adjusted and the new era of goodwill and peace on Earth will be inaugurated. He will express a spirit of inclusiveness which will automatically gather to Him all who seek right human relations. All who embody the spirit of exclusiveness, hatred and separateness will automatically stand revealed. The sword of the Spirit will produce a great cleavage between a true spirituality and a habitual materialism. Through selfless sacrifice, the understanding compromise, and the comprehension of the many and diverse points of view, a foundation will be laid for the establishing of right human relations. Christ will Teach the Law of Rebirth This Law is the major corollary of the Law of Evolution and in its recognition will be found the solution of all the problems of humanity. This law refers to the soul of man which incarnates over and over again in a human body. It has nothing to do with the idea of the "transmigration of souls", which signifies the passing of human beings into the bodies of animals or lower forms of life. The Law of Rebirth

3. The Revelation of the Mysteries of Initiation These ancient Mysteries were given to humanity the Hierarchy and contain the entire clue to the evolutionary process. This presentation will revive the churches in a new form and the Mysteries will also be revealed through science, for it will give the key to the mystery of electricity and other phenomena. The mysteries of the Soul, of great Spiritual powers, of the Brotherhood of Man and of our essential immortality will be proven to be facts of nature. Man will be offered the possibility and the opportunity to make scientific spiritual progress. For Christians this is to become in time a member of the Kingdom of God. Through initiation into the Mysteries will come great expansions of consciousness. These will bring the revelation of new worlds of endeavour, and of areas of divine existence which the previously insensitive brain cells and mental apparatus were unable to register. 4. The Dispelling of Glamour The statement, "Lead us from the unreal to the Real", conveys some part of what will be instigated here. Today mankind has little emotional control and, lead by his desire nature, has created a world wherein one wanders bewildered and deluded. Man is lost in a world of illusion and in the maze of earthly circumstances. He needs clear-sightedness and must learn to discriminate between the true and the untrue. The Christ, as the great dispeller of world glamour and illusion, will bring enlightenment to mankind. Quote.
