Role of the NZ Continence Association:

MISSION STATEMENT

The NZCA is a multi-disciplinary body that actively facilitates continence promotion throughout New Zealand.

NZCA MISSION STATEMENT

EDUCATION OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Our aim is to encourage and co-ordinate the education of health professionals in New Zealand on all aspects of incontinence including Annual Conferences and the continuing education of all professional groups.

 

AIMS

To promote, facilitate and advocate Public Awareness, Education of Health professionals, Accessible, equitable, high quality services throughout NZ, Research in all aspects of incontinence.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION

Our aim is to produce quarterly NZCA newsletters for members and other interested parties.

We operate a national free-phone helpline for people seeking help and information on continence problems. People making enquiries receive information pamphlets and the name of the appropriate heath professional in their area whom they can contact.

You may wish to send a small donation to assist continence promotion. All donations of $5.00 and more are tax deductible. Please call us on 0800-650-659 to pledge your donation.

PUBLIC AWARENESS

Our aim is to provide high quality information to people with continence problems and/or their caregivers, encouraging them to seek help without embarrassment.

SERVICES

Our aim is to lobby hospitals to recognize continence services as a core Health service and to provide nationally standardised continence services and supplies. The Health Funding Authority supports continence promotion, service provision and the New Zealand Continence Association.
