NZFMA Teaching Philosophy
There are three phrases you will often see that describe our attitude.
They are:
¨
Everyone
starts at the bottom
¨
Nothing is
free
¨
Everyone
works The philosophy behind this is that we all are learning and we all must commit ourselves to hard work to achieve our goals in the martial arts (and in anything). The instructors and experienced student will be learning different things from the beginner and the progression may not be as obvious, but they are still learning. The hard work part is clear
– you get out what you put in, with martial arts as with life. As for the training itself, it is difficult and physically demanding. We expect our students to be serious about their study and to work hard during class. Our commitment to our students is that if they work hard, are diligent and strive to improve - we will work with them to help them to achieve their potential. If you want to know more, call one of our instructors or come along to a class to see for yourself what it is that we do. |
