Graphics Cards

Second hand

Picasso II card, it is a ZORRO 2 card and can be used in A2000, A3000, A4000 and A1200s that have been equiped with a ZORRO add on. The Picasso 2 has either 1 or 2 Mb of video memory on board and a PAL pass through/switcher. The Picasso II card supports Piccaso96 or Cybergraphics RTG (ReTargetableGraphics) software as well as it's own custom PII software. I used P96 and the Picasso worked well. It is a older, slower 16 bit ZORRO II (it works in ZORRO III slots) card but still runs rings around AGA!!

CyberVision 64 S3 (not the 64/3D) with 4mb Video RAM, 32bit ZORRO III, with a PAL pass through and switcher for AMiGA PAL screens. I run Cybergraphics V3 RTG software and it also runs with Picasso96 RTG. The CyberVision 64 also has it's own custom software.

PiccasoIV with 4mb and flickerfixer (no need for smon/v), has more add-ons than CyberVision 64/3D (soundcard, TV module). It is a 32bit ZORRO III card and also works in ZORRO II slots and uses a Video slot in line with the ZORRO for flicker fixer. This card works in the A2000 but needs to be snapped in half!!! for the Video slot in the 2000 as this slot is not in line with the ZORRO slots on the A2000.

Other cards are Picasso II+, Merlin, Retina, Spectrum, IV24 and the Opalvision 24 bit PAL card that fits in the Video slot and can be used with a genlock.

New

Cybervision 64/3D (and Mark 2) with 4mb RAM, 32bit ZORRO III and jumer to fall back to ZORRO II mode, BUT if you want to use PAL modes on your monitor you will need a SMON/V adaptor, goes in 31khz port and connects to CyberVision 64/3D, check Eyetech for details.

Note that the CyberVision 64/3D scandoubler add on card does not work with the A3000 (so I have been told) and it's a pain to fit into a A4000. Requires Video slot (not sure if it works correctly in a A1200 video slot add on?).

To add RAM 2x 8MB simms can be used to give 16mb fast ram by an adaptor made by Ramjam. Take the ram you have now out and plug a adaptor in their place, easy! Works with A3640 above. I have a copy of AmiFAST instructions.

Why AMiGA?

Ahead of it's time, Support, Innovation - Not Micro$oft's version! ;-) Microsofts approach to innovation has always been to buy it from the innovators, and failing that to discredit, or destroy it. It is their relentless struggle to stifle competition that truly stifles innovation, and the development of quality software.
