Shooting Positions
In Rifle Target shooting:
there are two main shooting positions with regards to Disabled Target Shooting, these are Standing and Prone, and relate to what your elbows are doing to support yourself and the Rifle.

Standing Position
This Shooting Position has the shooter either actually Standing or Sitting but supporting the rifle without the use of there upper body leaning on anything (except maybe the back of your chair). Depending on your classification SH1 or SH2 you are allowed different pieces of equipment to aid.

An SH1 Shooter in the standing position must support the rifle solely with their arms and upper body, they are not allowed to let there elbows touch anything except the inside of their Jackets. An SH1 shooter is also not allowed to use a Shooting Stand or a Shooting Table in this position

An SH2 Shooter in this position has the same rules with regards to not letting their elbows touch anything for extra support, but they are allowed to use a Shooting Stand to support the weight of the Rifle.

Prone Position
The Prone Position has the shooter using a table, this can be either attached to their Wheelchair or Free standing.

The shooter can then lean on the table for support as they hold their rifle. Depending on your classification SH1 or SH2 you are allowed different pieces of equipment to aid you. Either a Sling or a Shooting Stand / Spring.

An SH1 Shooter in the prone position, can use a sling attached to their rifle to aid them in supporting their rifle, they also can have both their elbows on the table

An SH2 Shooter in the prone position uses a piece of equipment called a Stand or Spring, this equipment has to be ISCD approved and is stamped to ensure it meets, correct specifications, Depending on your exact classification will govern how much flexibility your spring can have.
