You can either shoot with a Rifle, Pistol or Shotgun, or all 3, each
has there advantages and disadvantages, depending on what you like
best.
To start with for Rifle & Pistol target shooting all you need is a
Rifle or Pistol some Pellets and Targets.
As you get into it, you can get more equipment (depending on
your classification) like a shooting table and shooting stand, a
shooting jacket, glove and sling
Air Rifle
There are two types of Air Rifles, “Lever Action or Compressed Air”.
Which use Pellets
There is also 22 cal Rifle or Pistol which use live ammunition.
Lever Action

This Air Rifle has a lever that is used to charge air into a
compressed state in the Air Rifles fixed Cylinder. When the trigger
is pulled the compressed air is released and the pellet is shot down
towards the target.
This Rifle is generally cheaper than Compressed Air.
Compressed Air

The Compressed Air Rifle uses a detachable cylinder that is refilled
from a dive bottle to fill with compressed air. To charge the Rifle
so you can shoot, the rifle is cocked ready to be loaded this puts
compressed air into a chamber, the pellet is put in, the breach is
shut and you pull the trigger and the pellet is shot
This Rifle is generally more expensive than Lever Action.
Pellets

Small pieces of cast lead that are used as ammunition approx 4.5mm
in diameter, to be shot at Targets. sold in Tins of around 500
pellets
Sling and Glove
The Sling is used to give stability and support to the shooter when
they are shooting in the prone position, if you are classified as an
SH1 shooter. The sling attaches to the Hand Stop of the rifle and
then to the Shoulder strap of the Jacket.

The Glove is used to protect the hand when using the sling and adds
extra support and comfort, The glove can be worn for both the
Standing and Prone positions of the SH1 Shooter

Jacket

This is used to give the shooter support and stability in either of
the shooting positions, having a good jacket has been known to help
you with your score, it can be worn by any shooter but is required
to be of a certain length.
Stand / Spring

This device is used to support the weight of the Air Rifle if the
user is unable to support it themselves
The Spring has different tensions based on your classification, and
is generally used for SH2 shooters.

Shooting Table

This is a Table that is either free standing or attached to your
wheelchair, and is generally used for shooting in the prone
position. A shooting table generally needs to be custom made to fit,
each specific user. Both SH1 and SH2 Shooters can use the Shooting
Table.
Targets

These can be either Card or Electronic, Targets are made up of a
single dot in the middle worth 10 points and outer rings each worth
differing points e.g. 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.
The further away your shots strike the centre the less points you
score.
The Target on the left is the Air Rifle Target, Target on the right
is for Pistol.

Electronic Targets have a sensor which registers where your pellets
go in relation to hitting the target. The results are then sent to a
small monitor in front of you, where you can See where your shots
have gone and the score you got.
