The Legend of Angus MacSpon...

On the 15th of October, 1883, an international team of explorers, sponsored by the Tenshin Institute and led by the renowned Dr Ernst Henseig, discovered a hitherto unknown system of caves beneath the Southern Alps, the forbidding range of mountains forming the backbone of the South Island of New Zealand.

After several days spent mapping the labyrinth, the explorers found themselves lost. Too late, they discovered that this was because something in the caves affected their compasses, making them behave erratically and even spin in wild circles.

The team wandered wandered for days through the caverns. When the fuel for their lanterns ran out, they plucked hairs from their beards and wove them together to form makeshift torches. At last, by carefully plotting the disturbances in his compass, Dr Henseig led his men to the very centre of the maze.

There, they found a sealed door, wrought all of bronze and covered with ancient hieroglyphs. The symbols spelled out a fearful warning to anyone who might enter the chamber beyond, but Dr Henseig, excited at the scientific implications of the door, lost no time in opening it.

Behind it, the explorers saw a small room, lit by an eerie light that seemed have no source. In the center was a bier, and lying on this was what appeared to be a human form. Dr Henseig approached the body -- and then reeled back in shock and horror! For the creature that had been entombed in those barren caves for so many millennia was none other than ... Angus MacSpon!

Aghast at their awful mistake, the explorers retreated, trying to seal the chamber behind them. But it was too late ... the menace was unleashed upon the world once more ...
