The workers claim that this group can be traced in direct line back to Jesus. Historical records show that it was started by a man called William Irvine in the late 1800s. Here are some of the explanations that the workers give in order to misled people into believing it was started by Jesus.

It's a dangerous to question the history of God's true way. It's the sin of presumption -blasphemy, because it's doubting the Holy Spirit.

I was born into a professing family - 3rd generation- I believe, as do all others with whom I have the privilege of fellowship, that God's only true way  has been from the beginning. A direct line can be drawn from the NT church to  our meetings today.

It was started by a group of men and women in the British Isles at the turn of the century (George Walker, 1941)

Yes, William Irvine started this way; it was a divine revelation from God. He raised up to revive the truth, just like the Word of God was dormant for 400 years. (Sharon Williamson,  worker, stated in Rockport, Illinois gospel meeting, February 1994).

When Richard Wulf, 27 a worker in Mexico for 2 years was asked about the apparent suppression of the sect's origins he replied, "Near the turn of the century God raised up Godly men in Ireland and Scotland". Added Kennedy, a worker spokesman, "Now we're not following these men, but the New Testament fellowship". Los Angeles Times 13/9/82.

This way is not of apostolic succession (Harry Brownlee,August 1990, conversation with Cherie Kropp). Yet, in Gospel meetings Harry stated " if it could be proven to me in black and white that this church was started by man, I would never preach another word".

You can read too many things written by man. One woman told us she read so much that she no longer believed Jesus was the Christ. Sad, Sad! Too much reading destroyed her faith.
