Project ROV (Subz NZ) Rov Links
|
This project started with my brother asking me to dive to 300 feet on scuba Here is some shots of my ROV project to date. It has been to 338 feet for 5 hours and no leaks! I am currently building the second one as the project has been so successful and like always, you seem to need to add bits and you always seem to have run out of room. My brothers story started off about a yacht that had sunk in the lake and how he would like to get his hands on it . Well "no" was my answer, but as I said to him "I can build a simple remotely operated unmanned sub" and so the idea was born. Now 1 year later, after hours of great fun building and with heaps of support from friends and family, who have had to put up with me telling them all about it, its no longer an idea but reality. Every thing has been hand built so thats been a big part of the challenge and picking up lots of parts from scrap yards, wire cable and the likes. So now, as you can see, there has been a lot of interest with some of the local companys and some as far a way as the Netherlands, in my project There seems to be a need to move this project through to the next step, which will see the ROV working for its living. |
