Seagull Outboards have only one moving part- the rower
Well it was about time there was a real seagull racing page on the web.

My brother and friends are all about to race seagulls  In New Zealand a small group of us are keen on collecting seagull motors and racing them down one of the longest rivers in New Zealand . This year im entering a 33 foot long by 2 foot wide boat ,the motor have importing from the UK is a seagull  QB.My brother and friends have about 25 seagull that we have collected over the last 2 years and they all run most of the time

You may have heard of the Americas cup being raced in New Zealand ,Well the New Zealand team are racing a  small 24 foot carbon fiber boat  with a seagull 5R , as a side line to there 5 million plus dollar racing yachts so we have our work cut out for us to beat them. So we dont have the budget like the big boys

By the way I have built up a dynamometer to test the engines as you can see below,we intened to put an expansion chamber on the engine s as well

We have just recast the crank cases and fitted roller bearings and seals as well as roller bigends and rebuilt the crank shaft as well so we are at the point where we are going to play with the timing of the ports

Gary one of the other fellow seagull racers that has been in the race last year is going to be adding some more of the history to the page later.

So keep and eye on the page from time to time.
