Today he remains one of the art world's rarest - a fine artist who is also successful commercially in his own time. Froude has represented New Zealand art with commissioned works through international exhibitions at venues including:
Randall has been painting for more than 50 years and is well known for the variety and technical quality of his work and for his teaching workshops. Resident at Kimbell since 1994, seeking tranquil and inspirational surroundings, he describes his move from the bustle of the North Island has providential. His art extends from atmospheric watercolours, through natural history showing exquisite detail, to the grand canvas in the romatic 18th and 19th Century tradition. He qualifies the later by describing them as traditional impressionist. Some of his vibrant paintings are in the French impressionist style, and he has been seriously labelled as the Monet of the Pacific. His forte however is the New Zealand landscape and his work displays a special feel for the mountains and the forest. It is possible to meet Randall, for his personal studio is at his home adjacent to the Silverstream Gallery at Kimbell. Workshops: For anyone interested in attending one of Randall's (usually) 3-day painting workshops, details may be obtained by contacting the Silverstream Gallery, by Fax, phone, email or letter. Randall undertakes commissioned paintings in oils or watercolour. These may be based on others of his past works, or from your photos or details, with variations such as size to suit you. Initial contact can be made through the Silverstream Gallery at Kimbell. [Main][Artist Profiles][Gallery][Location][Ordering Information] |
