In 2000, in order to complete my Postgraduate Diploma in Arts at the University of Otago, I wrote my dissertation on an event that I was involved with in 1993 - a protest over fee increases, at which a number of students were beaten up by the police. The full version of my research is available here online, including around seventeen photographs, and comments on previously unavailable information from interviews and video footage. If you just want to jump in and find out what happened, I recommend chapters two (my personal story), and four (the events of the day). Chapter one is the heavier academic historigraphical questions, chapter three is the background leading up to the day, going back several years, and chapter five is the after effects. Although the bibliography is there, this web version doesn't contain the footnotes, which include both sources as well as some comments. If you want to see the whole version for whatever reason, then please contact me.
