My PC
Calculus, the Conformist
Until recently, my primary computer for use at home was a Commodore Amiga 1200 that you can read about
here
. In May of 1999 I bought a new PC, for cheap computing power, audio hardware, and so I could run some Windows applications.
Hardware
Calculus has the following hardware, as if you're interested:
CPU:
Intel
Pentium-II, 350 MHz clock speed, on 440BX/ZX 100 MHz motherboard
Memory: 64 MB RAM
Storage: 8.6 GB Seagate Ultra-DMA internal IDE hard disk
SCSI: Not yet!
Modem:
D-Link
DFM-560E 56k, external
Monitor: currently a somewhat ancient
NEC
MultiSync II monitor
, but I want to upgrade!
Operating System
Calculus primarily runs Microsoft Windows 4.10 (Windows 98), which is a bit icky in some respects but it has its advantages. At least I get to run
Linux
full-time on
my Amiga
.
