I am a New Zealand photographer and describe myself as a serious amateur. I joined the Christchurch Photographic Society in 1999, and later that year, the Photographic Society of New Zealand. In early 2000 I gained my Associateship (APSNZ). I have been photographing for years, mainly the great outdoors which I love, but it is only over the last few years that I have made a conscious effort to improve and simplify my creations. Over the past 12 months I have been busy 'refocusing' my life (see About John).
