Switzerland

In August 2002, Chris and I flew from UK to Switzerland and spent over two weeks trekking half of the "Alpine Pass" route from Meirengen to Montreux on Lake Geneva. I thought I was fit after 7 months in the high Arctic, but after two weeks of climbing up ~4500 feet (1500 metres) and down each day, frequently in inclement weather, we were knackered at the end of the trek. One day we will complete the route ........... and walk others in the Swiss Alps! Here are a few typical Swiss scenes along the way

Looking across to the North Wall of the Eiger from near the summit of Faulhorn
Looking across the Lauterbrunnen valley to Wengen from track to Murren
