SATIRE

Terrence George

You, are one who breathed life before me

walked and talked before me

shared childhood with me.

Adolescent frolics flowed from you to me

as street-wise teens we shared it all

night-life's rhythms and sly grog halls

frequented well by liberating girls.

You are one who took some extra highs

to compensate some extra lows

uncalled for, unwanted, unneeded,

unheeded, unnecessary, but there to bare.

You, are a creative survivor

loved by many, understood by you.

You are my only brother

your sisters can’t say that,

we can … Cheers Bro!

I wrote this poem at the time of my only brother's 50th Birthday in 1995.  he passed away suddenly March 1999.
Loved and missed by many  ...  Ka kite ano,  Terrence George, my Brother.
