SATIRE

autumn years autumn

for awhile now and yet again
there's been bright clear sun soaked days
drawing in seldom seen rural horizons
while mirrored trees cast glittered reflections
over river kaipara as it snakes it's way
      to it's harboured sea
       golden sunsets abstract twilights
starry nights turn to return on
         our boggling far flung universe
          everyone’s god is there
           it’s my kind of season
            though rain sometime soon
would be welcomed by more than
              gardens trees and water tanks
            there's a balance needed
           in really living this life
and nature's seasons all play their part
as I of nature play mine
since my own bright and dark welcomed spring
      mixed summer dreams and
at least one or two well lived nightmares
unto this a fairly fine autumn years autumn
earth ink and ecstacy … rolled on.
