Past: He is the Bass player of the feelers and makes many samples
for the band and also does some remixes. He also sometimes plays the keyboard in some
performances.
At high school he won awards for jazz and classical music. He started playing the violin
in Standard 2 (Year 4), the piano in Standard 3 (Year 5), and the bass in Form 2 (Year 8).
He has been in stage and rock bands throughout high school. He has also played the guitar
in bands but didn’t do well. He was the person who actually formed the feelers by
advertising for a bass player. Matt went to primary school in New Plymouth and apparently
attended New Plymouth Boys High School. After High school he studied Philosophy at
University and also did a bit of computer programming, which explains the first official
feelers website he made himself before handing the responsibility to the new webmaster
John Jansen.
Favourite musicians:The music he’s into are stuff from Regurgitator, Beck,
Blur, and is a huge fan of The Pixies. He’s also into dance music.
Matt’s bass playing influence came from synthy bands like Jesus Jones and the Pet
Shop boys. He used to listen to these bands as a teenager. His major influence would have
to be Fernando Aunders, when he played for Lou Reed.
Personality:To sum up his personality he’s the "good guy", quiet, positive and considerate, with a sense of humour. He hardly speaks in interviews with the band(must be shy), but always talks to his fans. He’s not as much of a party animal as James and Hamish, but does know how to party!! Plus, he's a little cutie!!
