Steve began studying guitar at eight years of age. 

He has been teaching both acoustic and electric guitar for 15 years; during this time he has also played for various bands.

People of all ages have found his teaching expertise and patience rewarding. His students have ranged in age from six to sixty and their range of proficiency has been just as varied.


Learning Guitar:

No matter which level you have achieved on the guitar, Steve will tailor a programme especially suited to you. If you are a beginner he will extend your skills: for an intermediate he will stretch your abilities, and for the experienced player he will teach you how to reach the heights you aspire to.

* Arpeggios
* Reading Music
* Ear Training
* General Musicianship


Practical:

During your course you will learn a wide range of songs or selection of music. Lessons are tailored so that you play the type of music you enjoy. This includes anything from classical guitar through to modern day music, Classical, Folk, Rock, Jazz, Blues, etc.

If you are a new student, Steve can also advise you on appropriate instruments and equipment for your level of expertise.

Steve is the Australasian Representative for the Registry of Guitar Tutors.
If you are already a Tutor, RGT offers support, courses, books, CDs and software. There is also a series of examinations covering beginner to Diploma Level: these exams are accredited by the London College of Music.

Guitar Exams in New Zealand
